History of HESLB and Purpose

The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) is a body corporate established under Act No.9 of 2004 (as amended in 2007, 2014 and 2016) with the objective of assisting needy and eligible Tanzania students to access loans and grants for higher education. The main mandates of HESLB include:

  • To assist, on a loan basis, needy students who secure admission in accredited higher learning institutions, but who have no economic power to pay for the costs of their education
  • To collect due loans from loan beneficiaries and use it as revolving fund to sustain operations of the Board
  • To create synergies through establishing strategic partnerships in student financing ecosystem

How to view your HESLB loan application status 2023/24

Actually, there are steps you need to follow, in order to be able to see how you can view your HESLB loan application status. So to be HESLB loan Beneficiaries. As I said before you need to follow and observe all procedures required to apply for loan.

The following are steps that you can use to trace or to see the HESLB loan application status in your account through Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA) as follows;

  • Login to your account if you have already registered
  • After login to your account click to navigation (those three lines)
  • Then view loan application status to see if you are benefited or not
  • After that you can see the amount allocated to you

How to make HESLB loan application appeal

As I said before that not everyone can benefit on it, sometimes it can be good or bad to others while other may enjoy the fruits of it at the fullest. This sometimes can be due to poor or misunderstanding during application process for HESLB loan application to the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB).

What you need to do when your HESLB loan application approved

After your application have been approved by HESLB, in order to be able to receive amount of money that Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB), allocated to you through your account SIPA – Students Individual Permanent Account all you need to do is;

  • To provide the name of institute, college or university that you study
  • To provide your student ID
  • To provide your bank account number – and if you don’t have bank account you need to open either NMB Bank or CRDB Bank because these are only bank used by government for those who are HESLB Beneficiaries
  • Your NIDA number
  • One passport size – when opening bank account
